The types of economic activity of the Company – production, service provision and commerce. The key activity of UAB “Torlina“ – non-ferrous and ferrous (non-precious) scrap metal and junk buying, wholesale trade, and aluminium scrap thermal recycling - melting.

The Company was founded on December 9th 1998. At present, 299 employees are engaged at the Company, among them 14 belong to administrative staff and 285 persons – to production personnel.

Scrap metal is bought all over Lithuania; at present 46 scrapyards and other type junk handling facilities are established. The Company in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Alytus, Šiauliai and Panevėžys has opened terminals, in which scrap metal is cut, extruded and separated out for selling. Also we carry out the work of dismantling and cutting on the territory of the client, supply containers for accumulated scrap metal and transport it away using our own transportation vehicles.

Alongside with non-precious scrap metal and junk handling, at major part of Company’s facilities, lead-acid accumulators are bought in as well. This year, at key scrapyards in four regions we have commenced buying procedures of electrical and electronic equipment. At the principal base in Kaunas, also dismantling activity of unsuitable for exploitation transportation vehicles is conducted.

In 2010, at Alytus facility, aluminium scrap and junk melting activity was launched, during which aluminium blocks are produced. In this Division, UAB "Torlina" has implemented the quality management standard ISO 9001:2008.

Bought and prepared scrap metal is realized in the following foreign countries: Latvia, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Finland and Belarus.
